Senior Python Developer Full Time NEW

We’re hiring a Python Backend Engineer to own and build the backend of a subscription-based SaaS platform. The product includes gated content, video courses, AI-powered features, research tools, and real-time systems — built on Python/FastAPI with PostgreSQL on AWS.

This is a hands-on, building role. You’ll work across content APIs, payment integrations, user management, backend infrastructure, and AI system integrations. You’ll communicate directly with project managers and occasionally with technical stakeholders when required.

We need someone who can read an existing codebase, take ownership, improve systems proactively, and drive decisions independently — not someone who waits to be told what to do next.

What You’ll Work On:

• Backend services and APIs built with Python and FastAPI
• Content management systems — gated libraries, video courses, admin tooling
• User migration and onboarding pipelines
• AI system integrations (LLM APIs, context management, usage controls, knowledge retrieval integrations)
• Real-time features (WebSocket-based messaging and community)
• Database design, migrations, and query optimization (PostgreSQL)
• AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, SES, Docker)
• Deployment workflows, backend reliability, and production monitoring
• Observability and debugging workflows (logging, Sentry, analytics tooling)
• Backend scalability, performance optimization, and production readiness

Requirements:

• 6+ years of professional backend engineering experience in Python
• Strong FastAPI skills, including async patterns and dependency injection
• Solid PostgreSQL knowledge — schema design, migrations, query optimization, indexing
• Experience with Stripe or similar payment/subscription APIs
• Experience with AWS, Docker, and backend deployment workflows
• Comfortable working with existing production systems and improving them incrementally
• Comfortable writing migration scripts that safely handle production data
• Familiarity with observability/debugging tools (Sentry, logging systems, analytics platforms, etc.)
• Understanding of backend security best practices, authentication flows, and API hardening
• Strong English communication skills
• Comfortable taking ownership of an existing codebase and improving it without hand-holding

Preferred:

• Experience integrating LLM/AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
• WebSocket or real-time messaging experience
• Experience with fintech, SaaS, or content platforms
• Exposure to subscription or membership-based products
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Worked with international teams across time zones
