SCHEDULE: 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday

TIMEZONE: EST (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST / 6:30 PM – 2:30 AM IST)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced VMware Cloud Director (VCD) Support Engineer based in India to join our team as a dedicated remote resource. In this role, you will serve as an embedded engineer within our infrastructure team, providing day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our VMware-based cloud environment. This is a long-term contract opportunity with a clear path to salary growth based on performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot VMware Cloud Director (VCD) environments on a daily basis
• Manage NSX-T/NSX networking — virtual networks, edge gateways, firewall rules, and load balancers
• Handle vSphere/ESXi operations including VM provisioning, snapshots, live migrations, and capacity planning
• Manage and resolve support tickets via ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms within agreed SLAs
• Perform OS patching, certificate lifecycle management, and routine preventive maintenance
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, runbooks, and incident reports
• Participate in daily stand-ups and team sync calls during EST business hours

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Director (VCD/vCloud Director) — mandatory
• Strong VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration skills
• NSX-T or NSX-V network virtualization experience
• Linux and/or Windows OS administration and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Reliable internet connection and consistent availability during EST hours

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• VMware Aria / vROps (vRealize Operations) experience
• vRealize Automation (VRA) or vRealize Orchestrator (VRO)
• Azure VMware Solution (AVS) exposure
• VMware certifications — VCP, VCAP, or VCDX ( any )
• Scripting skills in PowerCLI, Python, or Bash for automation
• Experience supporting cloud service provider (CSP/VCPP) environments

TIMEZONE NOTICE

This role requires working during EST business hours — approximately 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, which corresponds to 6:30 PM to 2:30 AM IST. Candidates must be fully comfortable with this schedule before applying.
