Role Overview
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end warehouse operations across manufacturing and packaging functions, ensuring efficient inventory management, material handling, storage, dispatch coordination, and warehouse process optimization.
The role requires strong expertise in warehouse management, inventory control, logistics coordination, packaging operations, ERP systems, and team management within manufacturing environments. The incumbent will closely work with production, procurement, stores, dispatch, packaging, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth material flow, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and timely dispatch execution.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
• Manage overall warehouse operations including inward, storage, material handling, inventory control, and dispatch activities
• Ensure accurate stock maintenance and inventory reconciliation across raw materials, consumables, WIP, finished goods, and packaging materials
• Monitor stock movement and maintain optimum inventory levels to support uninterrupted production operations
• Implement warehouse best practices to improve space utilization, material flow, and operational efficiency
• Ensure proper storage, identification, and traceability of materials across warehouse locations
Packaging & Dispatch Operations
• Oversee packaging operations for finished goods ensuring compliance with quality, customer, and export standards
• Coordinate with production and dispatch teams for timely packing and shipment execution
• Ensure appropriate packaging methods, labeling, documentation, and handling standards are maintained
• Monitor dispatch schedules and logistics coordination for on-time delivery performance
• Handle dispatch planning for domestic and export shipments where applicable
ERP, Documentation & Process Control
• Ensure accurate ERP / SAP entries for inventory transactions, GRN, material issues, stock transfers, and dispatch documentation
• Maintain warehouse records, stock reports, MIS, and audit documentation
• Drive warehouse process improvements and system discipline across operations
• Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures, documentation standards, and internal approvals
Team Management & Cross Functional Coordination
• Lead and supervise warehouse, stores, packaging, and dispatch teams across shifts and operations
• Coordinate closely with procurement, production, planning, quality, logistics, and finance teams for smooth operations
• Ensure manpower planning, productivity improvement, and operational discipline within warehouse functions
• Train warehouse staff on safety, material handling, inventory accuracy, and process compliance
Compliance, Safety & Operational Excellence
• Ensure adherence to warehouse safety standards, housekeeping practices, and statutory compliance requirements
• Conduct periodic stock audits and support internal / external audit activities
• Minimize inventory discrepancies, material damage, and operational losses
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse efficiency, turnaround time reduction, and cost optimization
Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong expertise in Warehouse Operations and Inventory Management
• Experience in Packaging Operations and Dispatch Coordination
• Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Stores and Material Handling Practices
• Expertise in ERP / SAP Warehouse Management Systems
• Strong understanding of Inventory Control, Stock Reconciliation, and Documentation
• Experience in Logistics Coordination and Dispatch Planning
• Strong leadership, team handling, and operational management capabilities
• Ability to manage warehouse operations in fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Experience in Heavy Engineering, Capital Equipment, Industrial Manufacturing, Fabrication, Engineering Products, or Related Manufacturing sectors preferred
