DevOps / Cloud Engineer Full Time

Vylara is an infrastructure automation platform that reads your codebase and turns it into production-ready infrastructure in your own cloud. The platform infers architecture directly from your services, databases, queues, and background jobs, then provisions real resources such as VPCs, compute, databases, ingress, and TLS using readable Terraform. Customers retain full ownership of their infrastructure, cloud bills, and security boundaries, with all changes delivered as reviewable Git pull requests. Security and cost awareness are built in through least-privilege IAM, scoped security groups, safeguards against public exposure, and upfront cost estimates. Vylara is designed for teams that have outgrown PaaS limitations and pricing but are not yet ready to build a dedicated DevOps function.

Role Description

This is a full-time, remote DevOps / Cloud Engineer role at Vylara. You will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure patterns that Vylara provisions into customer accounts, focusing on scalability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and refining Terraform modules and cloud reference architectures, improving CI/CD pipelines, and enhancing infrastructure observability and monitoring. You will collaborate closely with software engineers to integrate infrastructure automation with application code, troubleshoot issues across the stack, and refine the way Vylara analyzes repositories to infer architectures. You will also contribute to internal tooling, documentation, and best practices that help customers safely adopt Vylara and operate their infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong Software Development skills (e.g., proficiency in at least one modern language such as Go, Python, or TypeScript; experience writing clean, testable code and working with Git-based workflows).
• Hands-on Infrastructure experience (e.g., IaC tools like Terraform, networking concepts, security best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and observability/monitoring).
• Deep understanding of Cloud Computing (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure services including compute, storage, networking, IAM, and managed services).
• Proficiency with Linux (e.g., system administration, shell scripting, container runtimes, and troubleshooting performance or networking issues).
• Experience with Databases (e.g., provisioning and operating relational and/or NoSQL databases, backups, performance tuning, and high availability).
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and collaborate asynchronously.
• Prior experience in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or building developer infrastructure for product teams is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred but not required.
