Role Description The Assistant Procurement Manager will support end-to-end procurement activities, including identifying requirements, preparing requests for quotation, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to align purchasing plans with project timelines and budgets. This full-time, on-site role in Chennai involves evaluating and onboarding suppliers, obtaining competitive bids, analyzing cost and quality, and recommending optimal sourcing decisions. The role will assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing purchase orders and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and sustainability standards. The Assistant Procurement Manager will also monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, maintain accurate procurement records, and contribute to process improvements and cost-optimization initiatives. Regular collaboration with project, finance, and logistics teams will be required to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Procurement, including sourcing, purchasing, and vendor coordination.
• Strong Supplier Evaluation skills, with the ability to assess quality, reliability, cost, and risk.
• Proficiency in Contract Negotiation and Contract Management to secure favorable terms and ensure compliance.
• Solid Analytical Skills to interpret cost data, compare proposals, and support data-driven decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems and MS Excel for tracking, reporting, and analysis.
• Effective communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
• Attention to detail, ethical conduct, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven setting; experience in EPC or construction industries is an advantage.
