Key Responsibilities

Documentation – Non Litigation

• Support the legal requirements of multiple business and support verticals PAN India i.e. Corporate and Institutional Lending, Mid-Market, Small and Medium Enterprises, Digital lending, Treasury and support for the legal work that stems out of Admin, IT and HR departments.
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiation and finalisation of all transaction loan documents, structuring of transactions, due diligence of project documents, vetting of title search reports, corporate compliances of the Borrowers to ascertain the risks, minimizing & addressing legal risks involved.
• Assist the reporting manager in directly working with the stakeholders for all transactions and general legal advice/support.
• Anticipate and identify legal issues of concern to the Business and Legal team and develop legal strategies and solutions to mitigate such issues.
• Interactions and working with external attorneys, law firms and advisors. Related support and assistance to the reporting manager for all transaction and process related advice.

Litigation

• Manage and coordinate litigation cases, including reviewing of loan documents, notices, pleadings and preparation of response and correspondence to such notices/pleadings.
• Draft and finalize notices, replies under Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002.
• Coordinate and brief legal counsels and other stakeholders to ensure successful resolution of disputes.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation positions.
• Monitor and maintain legal cases status.

Legal Research and Updates

• Monitor case laws, statutory and regulatory updates having implications for the business of the organization and disseminate information within organization.
• Advising the team on its statutory obligations, changes in law while keeping in mind the interests of the company and interacting with internal stakeholders for processes.
• Provide strategic legal advice in terms of new and proposed legislations and its impact on the business and functioning of the organization.
