Supplier Manager -Castings & Forgings Full Time NEW

Reporting To: Commodity Lead- Casting & Forgings

Team Name: Casting & Forgings (under Mechanical BTP-Supply Chain)

About the Team and the Role:

The team at Ather is responsible for building a robust and competitive supply chain for our innovative electric vehicles, ensuring part quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.

This role is for a specialized Manager for sourcing and managing the supply chain for criticalCastings & Forgings components who will oversee the development phase of the supplier base, from technical kick-off to mass production handover, driving supplier readiness and managing complex commercial negotiations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the historical spend analysis, FY outlooks, and demand-based forecasting for the development category.
• Execute the full tooling lifecycle management, from Technical Kick-Off (TDKO) to milestone-based payment release.
• Accountable for the Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) of all prototype and OE sample phases through to LVPT/HVPT.
• Drive 4M readiness (Man, Machine, Method, Material) and verify supplier capacity for a smooth Start of Production (SOP).
• Oversee and sign-off on final PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)/PSW (Part Submission Warrant) documents and Packaging Sheet (PSS) trials.
• Lead the team in complex negotiations for Cost, Timelines, and T&Cs, utilizing a Total Cost of Ownership approach for all parts and tooling.
• Manage and track the commodity strategy implementation, including long-term roadmaps for technological advancements and market dynamics.
• Partner with internal “Swimlanes” to define product requirements (SOR) and prepare comprehensive RFQ packages.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Required qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production preferred).
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain Management, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sector focusing on Castings and Forgings commodities.

Must have Competencies:

• Supplier Fulfilment (Demand Supply management)
• Negotiation and Closure
• RFQ management – Engagement with Supplier
• General Manufacturing & Assembly processes of the Commodity

Good to have Competencies:

• Commodity exposure (Tech & Commercial)
• Supplier base for the Commodity
• SAP
• Quality Management Systems, AIAG manual, APQP, PPAP, etc.
